Description
PP/PES/PTFE/Nylon Micropleated Membrane Filter Cartridge
The WIRES micropleated membrane filter cartridge is a high-precision liquid filtration element designed for critical water and process fluid applications. Built with pleated microporous membrane media, it delivers absolute-rated particle removal with a large effective filtration area in a compact 2.5-inch diameter form factor.
Available Membrane Media
| Media | Micron Ratings | Best For |
|---|---|---|

FAQ
Q: How do I choose between PP, PES, PTFE and Nylon membrane?
A: PP is the most economical for general water. PES offers the lowest extractables for pharma/ultrapure water. PTFE handles aggressive chemicals and gas filtration. Nylon is compatible with organic solvents and food-grade applications. Contact us with your fluid type for a recommendation.
Q: What’s the difference between nominal and absolute micron rating?
A: Micropleated membrane cartridges are absolute-rated, meaning they remove at least 99.9% (or 99.99% for PES) of particles at the rated micron size, per ASTM F795. This is more reliable than nominal depth filters for critical applications.
Q: Can you cross-reference to Pall, Millipore or Sartorius housings?
A: Yes. Our DOE/SOE end configurations fit most standard 2.5-inch filter housing brands including Pall, Millipore, Sartorius, Cuno, and Pentair. Send us your housing model for an exact cross-reference.
Q: How often should I replace the cartridge?
A: Replace when differential pressure reaches 2.5–3 bar, or at scheduled maintenance intervals (typically 6–12 months for RO pre-filtration). We recommend monitoring inlet/outlet pressure with a gauge.
Q: Do you provide samples for testing?
A: Yes, free sample cartridges are available for qualification testing. Contact WIRES with your application details and required micron rating.
