WIRES Wedge Wire Filter Disc
The WIRES wedge wire filter disc is a rigid, self-supporting circular screen constructed from precision V-shaped wedge wire (profile wire) resistance-welded to transverse support rods. Unlike woven wire mesh, the wedge wire design creates a continuous, non-clogging slot opening that widens outward, allowing captured particles to pass through or be easily back-flushed without blind spots. This makes it the ideal filter medium for viscous, particle-laden fluids such as waxy crude oil, heavy fuel oil, pulp stock, and wastewater. The discs are manufactured to exact diameters and slot widths, and can be stacked in multiple layers to achieve multi-stage filtration within a single housing.
