Description

Dry Gas Seal Filter Cartridge

The WIRES Dry Gas Seal Filter Cartridge is a high-performance, high-cleanliness element designed to protect the mechanical dry gas seals of centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and gas expanders. Installed in the seal-gas supply and vent systems, it removes solid particulates, liquids, and compressor oil carry-over before the buffer gas reaches the seal faces. Manufactured with pleated stainless steel woven mesh and sintered fiber media supported by a perforated inner core, the cartridge delivers absolute-rated filtration with a controlled, uniform pore structure that prevents seal-face scoring and extends seal service life. Every element is factory integrity-tested and available with custom end-cap geometries, connection types, and micron ratings to match all major seal-gas panel OEMs.

Key Features

  • Absolute-rated pleated media — 304/316L stainless steel woven mesh and sintered fiber provide 99.9% removal at the rated micron size for critical seal-gas service.
  • High mechanical strength — perforated galvanized or stainless inner core supports the pleat pack against pressure surges and backflow without collapse.
  • Low extractables, high cleanliness — media and end-cap adhesives are cleaned to meet gas-seal particulate requirements, preventing seal-face contamination.
  • Temperature and corrosion resistance — suitable for dry natural gas, nitrogen, and instrument gas from -30 °C up to 200 °C with Viton or silicone seals.
  • Full OEM interchangeability — dimensions, O-ring grooves, and male/female connections matched to John Crane, EagleBurgmann, Flowserve, and Rotorcom seal-gas housings.
